This project involved an extensive remodel and expansion of a cottage located on 32 acres of vineyards, gardens and expansive views of the Dry Creek Valley. The existing cottage was charming, but small. The new design expanded the living room and removed a second floor sleeping loft to allow for a double height space throughout the living room, dining room and kitchen. To create a stronger connection to the outdoors, a window wall was designed to frame views of the vineyard and tall french doors were located to access an outdoor deck. A 1500 SF addition accomodated a new entry and master suite on the ground level and a pool room and additional guest room at the pool level below. The new glass entry, centered on the pool, was positioned to connect the existing house to the new addition and accomodate a stair leading to the pool room, pool and outdoor areas below.
